Flowerwild's Workshop!

I have to say, I am beyond thrilled with all the hard work and beautiful flowers my attendees produced at the November Workshop! It was so much fun - and truly inspiring to me to see so much enthusiasm, and be surrounded by so many sweet people whose love of flowers matches mine.
We played, ate great food, soaked up the gorgeous scenery in Montecito...literally steps from the ocean. Learned so much from the talents and insights of my dear friend Rebecca Stone - who so generously donated her time and efforts to make it all go smoothly, and make sure everyone felt at home.

Hopefully, some of you will be inspired to sign up for the next workshop scheduled for February 24th and 25th in Santa Barbara once you see these images!

Published!

"What the hoodle?!!!" as my sweet Alice would say...
we have been published in Town and Country weddings again. Wow. Such an honor and dream really to be in the same magazine with other leading industry innovators and dreamers.

This wedding is featured on our website...Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse
beautiful images by Aaron Delesie and planning/coordination by Beth Helmstetter and super sweet film by Joel Serrato

Two of our weddings are also featured in Style Me Pretty's first E-Glossy ever! Best weddings of 2010...and we did flowers for 2 of them, which is a pretty awesome ratio considering all the weddings that happened in 2010. I feel kinda bubbly...

Thank you to my lovely brides for believing in me, trusting me, and letting me be a part of your perfect day...I feel that 2010 was a big year for Flowerwild and can't wait to get started creating and designing in 2011. We have so much to look forward to already.

a lesson in procrastination

bleach buckets, scrub buckets, hydrate flowers, eat cheese and crackers, email, revise a budget, email again, watch olivia with alice, look at my yoga mat...
facebook, build new gallery on our website, entertain ideas of going to palm springs to see the Avedon exhibit, email, color with Alice (she is getting good at drawing faces!), stare at yoga mat...
blog, refine amazon shopping cart (thank god for this amazing invention), play spiderman game with Alice (I am most often Mary Jane Watson is some sort of distressing situation...lost puppy, alligators in my house, etc), stare at yoga mat a little more....

ahhhh, maybe later!!! I am off to the studio to play with flowers.

New Workshop dates! February 24th & 25th

The last workshop was so unbelievable and so inspiring for ME that I had to plan another right away!
This one will also take place in Santa Barbara - at an AMAZING historical estate. Two days of floral design, art making, great conversation, plans for the future, and friendships. What could be better? I say treat yourself, it will be an experience to remember.

FEBRUARY 24th and 25th

Please reserve your space now - as I will continue to keep these workshops small and intimate. Once full, there will be a waiting list for that session or future dates.

Looking forward to meeting some of you there!

Gretchen's Samples

In between Thanksgiving festivities, windy day walks down to the river to throw rocks with Alice, Client meetings and emails, building new galleries for our website, planning upcoming workshop dates, and (yikes) possibly beginning shopping for Christmas (oh dear!)...I have been admiring these pretty images of Gretchen's samples.

I just feel all warm and bubbly when I see those little cosmos whisping about. Don't they just make you smile?

James and Lynette!

A little summer reminiscing on this blustery cool autumn day. Big clouds in the dark and brilliant sky today. Something so special about the light on a day like today. It is cold/brilliant and warm/fuzzy all at the same time.

This sweet wedding at Saddlerock was featured on Wedding Chicks some time ago...photographs by the lovely Joy Harmon Prouty of Wildflower Photography. How's that? Yes our business names are almost identical...

I loved this couple and loved their approach to the day, which was very fun and frivolous. Picnic blankets at the ceremony, grape soda buttons, balloons, fun yellow bridesmaids' dresses from anthro. This one was actually hard to leave. Wanted to stay and celebrate with them through the night (if I wasn't so dead tired I might have). It was a fun group to say the least!
my favorite thing ever...BLUEBERRY greens!!! I wish I could have them all the time.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving all.
