Daydream Dreamy Inspiration

I have lots of wild ideas running around in my head these days. Many that keep me awake at night dreaming - this shoot was one of those daydream variety inspirations, that came together so perfectly with the collaboration of a few friends.
Photographed by Jessica Claire, this day was inspired by intimate celebrations of love and romance with an emphasis on stunning details. I admit sometimes it is difficult to train and focus my ideas into a concise vision - but when I found this remarkable vintage gown at Unique Vintage everything began to fall into place.

Depression era glass for the table, hobnail plates and chargers, antique cut glass doorknobs, a mixture of vintage pieces from majolica to lusterware in muted amber and dusty rose tones. So pretty! The flowers picked themselves. With the help of my dear friend Rebecca of Duet Weddings we finished things off with some sugar dusted fruit. Yum.

In the end, I really intended to show that you can have a blending of colors and styles and still have a cohesive looking event. Have fun, Play, Imagine...your wedding day should be a celebration of you an your fiance together. Of love, of the future - and nothing shows that more than when you put your own little stamp on the day. Use your own flair, don't be afraid of mixing it up. If you choose great vendors, give them guidance, & let them take care of you - you will have the best wedding experience possible. Here's to a wonderful 2010 filled with inspired newly wedded couples!

Wild Thing

I was lucky enough to work with some very talented people this week on a shoot for Bride and Bloom Magazine. Brooke Keegan and Jen and Aaron Delesie. I enjoyed every minute of this collaboration and can't really say much more than that - except you must pick up the next issue of Bride and Bloom to see what Brooke pulled together and all the pretty images captured by the Delesie team. I have just a few images of the flowers before the left the studio to share. White does not have to be boring!

Coordinated by Brooke Keegan - super lovely person. Wonderful vision and extremely capable/organized.
Event Photographed by - Aaron Delesie (images not shown here) His work is stunning and I have been a long time fan of his work. I really loved his approach to the imagery and brides who are looking for exceptional talent and timeless images should look at his site.

Style Me Pretty Feature - San Ysidro Ranch Wedding

Sorry I'm so far behind with my posts...Yikes. I have so much to catch up on- but, on the plus side this means there's a load of pretty images to show you over the next few holiday weeks.

My favorite intimate wedding of the 2009 season was featured this week on Style Me Pretty. Photographed by Jessica Claire, Coordinated by Alexandra Kolendrianos, Film by Curtis of Living Cinema - this wedding was the perfect blend of beautiful elements. A gorgeous ceremony area, delightful weather, the old world charm of the ranch, a divinely decadent tabletop of dahlias, garden roses, ranunculas - and of course, Carrie & Jay. What a sweet couple.

Flowerwild Workshops Debut!!!

Hello to all my loyal lovely readers! I am most excited to announce that Flowerwild has launched our Workshop Site!!!! With the first dates announced for March 10th and 11th of 2010.
You know - when I was looking to get back into flowers, I did a ton of research and scoured the planet for a school that could teach me how to design flowers. There was literally NOTHING out there. Zip, zero. Well maybe a few Ikebana classes...but that's it!
Our San Ysidro Ranch Workshop is the first in a series, designed to give aspiring floral artists real first-hand exposure to a working event environment. Building a palette and drawing out your individual artistic vision, sumptuous flowers, expert advice on how to launch your own business or push your existing one to the next level.
This will be an amazing experience for all who attend...2 days in gorgeous Santa Barbara. Yeah!!!!!!!! I hope to meet many of you there so we can bond over all the beauteous spring blossoms. Let's get together and design an event that is out-of-this world. It will be SO SO fun, I honestly can't wait.

Check out all the LOVELY people and vendors who will be contributing to this unique event:

Rebecca Stone of Duet Weddings
- Just look at her work to be completely swept away by her sense of style and ability to infuse beauty in an event with such ease.

Bonnie Tsang
- a photographer with a wonderfully artistic eye. Soon to be very booked up in 2010 if she isn't already!!

Florabundance - floral wholesale joint in SB. Beautiful, lush flowers...

San Ysidro Ranch
- this is the premiere venue for luxury weddings in Santa Barbara. There is nothing else quite like it!

Sound like fun? Absolutely!!!!Now go check out the Workshop site and Register to book your space now.

PS please contact me directly if you would like to gift this to someone, or would like to give a gift certificate toward the tuition!!!! What an awesome present for a flower lover.

Flowerwild Wedding - Featured on Ruffled Blog!

Jennie and Ryan's wedding was featured on my new favorite wedding blog for inspiration:
Ruffled Blog

It has oodles and oodles of magical pics of brides who are looking for ways to put a vintage spin on their wedding. Gowns, flowers, decor etc. I highly recommend making it a daily read.

Jennie is a truly stylish person. I loved everything about the way this wedding came together. Jennie and I worked on the colors- shifting from a bold juicy, fruity palette to this final look. Fuchsias set against the bold blues. I couldn't believe how crazy beautiful the clematis vine was. Honestly, it made the bouquets feel as if they were "growing" which was so perfect for the Smog Shoppe setting where there is a living garden growing out of the walls. Man vs Nature. Nature wins all the time.
Another flowers that was a complete stand out for me was this raspberry/plum colored cabbage rose that was variegated - or striped! Laura from Docuvitae captured the event is a truly breathtaking way. Her style is so timeless and refreshing. Check out this wedding featured on Ruffled Blog here.

Ehiku and Ingo wed - Peanut too!

Some clients are just RAD.( I pulled that word out of an old box from 1993) But it's the darn truth. Ehiku and Ingo were wed in Malibu, cliff-side, then had everyone back to their place for the party. Doing these flowers was so effortless and easy because Ehiku was so relaxed. She completely entrusted me with the design of the whole day.
I should have the professional shots soon...my own images will have to do for now. Love the look of the long terracotta pots down the raw wood tables. Missing these garden roses SO right now.
