Bold Raspberry and Blueberry Palette

I've got things coming at you a little out of order, but no matter...These are images from Jennie's sweet wedding at the Smog Shoppe a few weeks ago. In a few more weeks I should have images from Laura at Docuvitae. That girl knows what she's doing with a camera, so I can't wait to see the results. I just know they will be fabulous.
This bold and fun pallette was the invention of the bride and I am LOVING it!!! Above is the inspiration board I did for her as we got close to the wedding date, along with the actual arrangements as they are boxed up and ready to leave the studio. (the first boards I did for her were a totally different sort of juicy palette-citrus and raspberry/cherry, very warm)
I could not stop staring at these flowers they were just so juicy and fresh looking. And the clematis vine was to-die-for gorgeous, almost iridescent, like a butterfly! Wait till you see what Jennie looked like in her gown with the bouquet. So glamorous, in a very simple silk dress with just a gentle splash of beading at the neckline and across the back. Radiant!

Quickie!!!

I have been working on a guest blogging piece for MSW this week, so I'm not feeling too wordy right now. I'm all worded out. So how 'bout some purty pics instead.

These are random shots from the studio of arrangements we sent out weeks ago. I like them. That's all.

Napa Nuptials III

I have a few of these images of the tabletops that I snapped from our Napa wedding in early September. I'm sure the images I will soon get from Jose Villa will dramatically eclipse these mediocre snapshots...but the tabletops are too pretty. I just couldn't wait any longer. And this location is so dramatically beautiful. My husband and I were able to get one night out drinking great wine in Calistoga after this one! So so so fun and much needed!!!!

Venue Spotlight -San Ysidro Ranch

Two weeks ago I did THE SICKEST WEDDING EVER in Montecito at San Ysidro Ranch! By sick I mean drop-dead-friggin' -gorgeous...Soon I'll have images from the very talented Jessica Claire to show you. (She just got married this week and so it might take a bit for me to get those!!! Weddings weddings everywhere!) I'll post some of my own shots of the super-delicious bridal bouquet later.
But I couldn't wait for those to just shout to my small world of people about how amazing this place is. It is like stepping into a virtual garden of Eden!!! Lavender plantings flowering up to your shoulders, old growth oaks, roses upon roses, bougainvillea vines, jasmine, hummingbird colonies!!! It is magical. If you are looking for a venue that is unforgettably beautiful- this is it. It has history, romance, charm, and the sweetest personnel on the planet. I kid you not. They must drink some "sweetness" tonic or something. I noticed this about the staff at the Four Season Biltmore in SB too. No surprise these properties are both owned by Ty Warner - inventor of the Beanie Babies. Hence the sweetness factor. After seeing this place there is no one who can doubt the natural beauty of California.

Napa Nuptials II

Little A is not feeling too hot so we spent a majority of the morning watching Bambi...about 6 times! Perfect time for me to get caught up on my blogging - or so I thought! Apparently I cannot ignore an old classic like Bambi, and there are many life lessons in this movie that need to be explained carefully to an almost 2 year old.
The best one comes from Thumper's dad : "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all."

Anyhoo...a while back I posted some images of the centerpieces we did for Michelle's wedding in Rutherford. What a gorgeous place. I am still waiting on images from the photographer...so there will be more of the actual wedding to come but I want to show you a few tidbits of the personals.
Bridal bouquet...I can't describe how sweet this smelled. And the bouts....just love all the salmon/ coral accents. Michelle and I went thru a long process trying to make sure she got the colors she wanted - which included lots of versions of inspiration boards, phone conversations and even some long distance flower color samples. All in all it was well worth the extra effort and I hope she was as happy with the results as I was.

Flowerwild Wedding - Jennifer and Matt

This wedding was a June beauty and I have been anxiously waiting for all the images so I can show you a cohesive look at the day. Mindy Weiss and her team brought all the pieces of this Tuscan inspired event with grace and style.
Wish I had more shots of the personals to show you, because her bouquet was out of this world stunning...lots of big fat peonies. And the bridesmaids' carried smaller nosegays of peach garden roses.

The amazing tables set with La Tavola linens and our scrumptious flowers. She really wanted end-to-end luxurious arrangements spilling all over the table. I say...NO PROBLEM!!!!

Another fun touch...citrus draped chandeliers. There were 4 of these in the room. No small task to decorate but the results were even more beautiful than I had imagined.

And the cake table....oh la la. We provided all the pretty cake stands and pretty decor...plus we emailed a few images to the pastry chef for colors to match the cakes to. The results were so much better than plain white or ivory cakes..FUN!

Planned by none other than the fabulous Mindy Weiss
This event took place at the jaw droppingly beautiful Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach.
