Venue Spotlight -San Ysidro Ranch

Two weeks ago I did THE SICKEST WEDDING EVER in Montecito at San Ysidro Ranch! By sick I mean drop-dead-friggin' -gorgeous...Soon I'll have images from the very talented Jessica Claire to show you. (She just got married this week and so it might take a bit for me to get those!!! Weddings weddings everywhere!) I'll post some of my own shots of the super-delicious bridal bouquet later.
But I couldn't wait for those to just shout to my small world of people about how amazing this place is. It is like stepping into a virtual garden of Eden!!! Lavender plantings flowering up to your shoulders, old growth oaks, roses upon roses, bougainvillea vines, jasmine, hummingbird colonies!!! It is magical. If you are looking for a venue that is unforgettably beautiful- this is it. It has history, romance, charm, and the sweetest personnel on the planet. I kid you not. They must drink some "sweetness" tonic or something. I noticed this about the staff at the Four Season Biltmore in SB too. No surprise these properties are both owned by Ty Warner - inventor of the Beanie Babies. Hence the sweetness factor. After seeing this place there is no one who can doubt the natural beauty of California.

Napa Nuptials II

Little A is not feeling too hot so we spent a majority of the morning watching Bambi...about 6 times! Perfect time for me to get caught up on my blogging - or so I thought! Apparently I cannot ignore an old classic like Bambi, and there are many life lessons in this movie that need to be explained carefully to an almost 2 year old.
The best one comes from Thumper's dad : "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all."

Anyhoo...a while back I posted some images of the centerpieces we did for Michelle's wedding in Rutherford. What a gorgeous place. I am still waiting on images from the photographer...so there will be more of the actual wedding to come but I want to show you a few tidbits of the personals.
Bridal bouquet...I can't describe how sweet this smelled. And the bouts....just love all the salmon/ coral accents. Michelle and I went thru a long process trying to make sure she got the colors she wanted - which included lots of versions of inspiration boards, phone conversations and even some long distance flower color samples. All in all it was well worth the extra effort and I hope she was as happy with the results as I was.

Flowerwild Wedding - Jennifer and Matt

This wedding was a June beauty and I have been anxiously waiting for all the images so I can show you a cohesive look at the day. Mindy Weiss and her team brought all the pieces of this Tuscan inspired event with grace and style.
Wish I had more shots of the personals to show you, because her bouquet was out of this world stunning...lots of big fat peonies. And the bridesmaids' carried smaller nosegays of peach garden roses.

The amazing tables set with La Tavola linens and our scrumptious flowers. She really wanted end-to-end luxurious arrangements spilling all over the table. I say...NO PROBLEM!!!!

Another fun touch...citrus draped chandeliers. There were 4 of these in the room. No small task to decorate but the results were even more beautiful than I had imagined.

And the cake table....oh la la. We provided all the pretty cake stands and pretty decor...plus we emailed a few images to the pastry chef for colors to match the cakes to. The results were so much better than plain white or ivory cakes..FUN!

Planned by none other than the fabulous Mindy Weiss
This event took place at the jaw droppingly beautiful Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach.

Zoe's bouquets

I have a little design help these days. Alice is very motivated and even more skilled than mommy with flower arranging. Here you can see her with her very 1st completely self made bouquet in a Moroccan tea glass. I loved the way she told me she needed me to cut the stems shorter when they were too long, and then instructed me to fill up the vase with water. She has been quietly paying attention. I love her and her sweet ways.

Here are some garden rose bouquets we did for Zoe's wedding in Malibu at a private estate. Images to come later from Docuvitae.

Napa Nuptials

Hello All! We have been to Napa and back. Heard a lot of unusual radio on our travels ( Fats Domino, New skool and old skool Country, and some rockin' Napa station I will forever be on the hunt for!) and saw some dusty almond crops too. DRY farmland!
This wedding was a stunner to say the least..today I will share the studio shots of the centerpieces These are the larger focal arrangements, which were surrounded by smaller satellite groupings of flowers. Her Personals will come later and of course when Jose Villa has his images from the day we'll post those too.

Here's what you can find in these arrangements...
Heirloom Garden Roses
Coral Passion Vine
Dusty Miller
Amaryllis
Hebe
Ranunculas
Dahlias
Flowering Pieris
Grape Vine
and fun fuzzy - and some not so fuzzy - succulents

What do you think? Like em? The only thing missing is the wine!
